Episode 1

Fanny Dashwood and her two daughters, Elinor and Marianne, are faced with the prospect of her stepson and his wife moving into their home at Norland.

Part 2: A Parting and a Journey

16th January 1971

Episode 2

Colonel Brandon organised a picnic for all at Barton but was called to London at the last moment and cancelled it. Undeterred, Willoughby took Marianne for a drive by herself.

Part 3: Sisters in Misfortune

23rd January 1971

Episode 3

Mrs Jennings took Elinor and Marianne to a ball in London. There Marianne at last saw Willoughby but was dismayed when he ignored her.

Part 4: Resolution

30th January 1971

Episode 4

Col. Brandon heard that Mrs Ferrars had cut Edward off because of his engagement. He asked Elinor to take a message to Edward, little knowing the effect this might have on her.
