Cry Wolfe combines the work of veteran private eye Brian Wolfe and Investigation Discovery's signature dramatizations to create a hybrid reality/procedural-crime series. It's inspired by actual cases investigated by Wolfe and his assistant, Janine McCarthy, and whether the target is a cheating spouse, dishonest employee, or scammer, each half-hour episode follows the two from the initial client consultation to evidence-gathering stages and finally a confrontation with the accused. Wolfe, a no-nonsense guy with a thick Boston brogue, conducts field work using an arsenal of tried-and-true P.I. tricks; McCarthy picks up the data trail left on the Internet; and re-enactments give each case life, disclosing a shadowy world where things aren't always as they seem.
Episode 1
Brittany suspects her husband Todd is having an affair with her best friend Francesca. She hires Wolfe to acquire evidence. He discovers that there is indeed something shady going on, but it's not what he thinks.
Episode 2
Sarah and Brent are in escrow on their first house. But Sarah suspects that Brent is sleeping with Lindsay, a receptionist at the real estate office. During his investigation, Wolfe discovers that some people will stop at nothing to close a deal.
Episode 3
Debbie is in her late thirties and desperate to have her first child. It's something she and her husband Hal talked about when they got married. But Hal is being strangely elusive. Debbie suspects he's cheating on her. She hires Wolfe to find out.
Episode 4
Amy has been married for six months to Patrick, a traveling restaurant salesman. But lately he's been on the road longer than usual. Wolfe tracks Patrick to San Diego, where the newlywed husband may be reconnecting with an old flame from college.
Episode 5
Sandra has the perfect boyfriend in Jack. The only problem is, she thinks Jack has another woman on the side. As Wolfe delves into the case, a sudden turn of events causes Wolfe to question whether he should even continue his investigation.
Episode 6
Jeff has never had a girlfriend as hot as Mandy. But Mandy goes "off the grid" on occasion and won't let Jeff get intimate with her. Is Mandy just after Jeff's money? Or is she harboring a secret she doesn't want Jeff to know about?

It's a black Christmas for Steve and his wife Nicole. An electrician named Bill was supposed to fix their lights, but he appears to be sleeping on the job. Steve hires Wolfe to see if Bill is doing the work, but Wolfe uncovers an unexpected surprise.

As a psychic, the great Zora knows all and sees all. But she needs Wolfe's expertise to clarify a vision she has of her husband Alex cheating on her. Wolfe is shocked to discover that Alex's transgressions go far beyond mere infidelity.
