1976: Despite his career being on the ropes, Oscar “Ringo” Bonavena arrives in Reno, Nevada, seeking a rematch against Muhammad Ali. There, he meets the man who bought his contract, Joe Conforte. In 1963, a young Ringo is suspended in a controversial fight in the Pan American Games.

There, Ringo unknowingly stumbles into the criminal world of Joe Conforte, who promises Ringo a bright future. But a bright future would not come, nor a sought-after rematch against Ali, as the boxer would be found dead in three months' time.
