Episode 1
Financial hardships of the Great Depression hit Honey Bailey and her family, changing the life they had known.
Episode 2
May struggles to handle the boys, especially a defiant Hub, who resolves to get he and his brother back to their mother. In North Bridge, Honey looks for work.
Episode 3
Honey's brother disappears with her savings. Meanwhile, the boys search for clues to a bank robbery.
Episode 4
Honey is fired and cannot find another job. Meanwhile, Hub and Fat try to earn money.
Episode 5
Hub and Fat earn money taking care of a dog.
Episode 6
Uncle Bob gets Hub a job on weekends at a local farm and Fat manages to win a small part in a local Chautaugua show. Meanwhile, when Honey loses everything and is forced inot a charity mission, Aunt Grace intervenes and May Bailey finally agrees that her duaghter-in-law may return.
Episode 7
While adapting to life with her mother-in-law and coping with her new job, Honey becomes attracted to a charming, but self-centred, local policeman.
Episode 8
Honey and Grace help Max adapt one of his unsold radio plays for the local drama society, only to see it consume Aunt Toppy's life.
Episode 9
Complications and a disapproving May threaten Grace's secret plans to attend an out-of-town wedding with Judd.
Episode 10
Trouble ensues when Uncle Joe makes a surprise visit to New Bedford; Honey and the boys continue their battle to bring baby Violet home.
Episode 11
The boys concoct some hair-brained schemes to raise money for Honey's birthday present; May gets into hot water when fundraising proceeds go missing.
Episode 12
Hub has trouble with school and gets involved with a bad crowd.
Episode 13
With Honey away at a hairdressing course, Fat learns that Matilda and Hugh plan to leave the country with Violet.
