A crime drama set in Southampton following a team of detectives and the cases they solve.
Episode 1
Hackett and team stake out a cargo ship carrying £30,000 in silver. A tip-off from snout Ted Knight points the finger at Jack Maynard. When the stakeout is terminated, the team discover Knight with his throat slit on the dock.
Episode 2
Harry Skeats runs a gang of jewel thieves. During a safe breaking, gang member Rocky Wall is badly burned; he's dumped and dies in hospital. Knowing they need a new burner, Hackett bails Tim Farlow out of jail to use has bait.
Episode 3
Courier Pink gives Sharkey a chance to make some money by bringing Lebanon hashish into Britain. Before he can hand it to Cetti, police raid his home, leaving Sharkey in possession of half a million pounds' worth of heroin.
Episode 4
Criminals Dickie Tufnell and Harry Kemp are shot dead in a gangland hit. Hackett learns that the latter had been forced into the robbery by a pair of revolutionaries looking to raise funds.
Episode 5
Two youths hijack four lorries and beat up the drivers. Tate believes they are stealing to order. When the pair attempt to sell new TV/radio cassette players to Tyler Electronics, they cross a big firm.
Episode 6
Hackett's snout Collars is murdered. Inquiries lead to the release of Swain and Lewis from Parkhurst. Target criminal Ruby Daniels' daughter Sam is kidnapped and the abductors want £300,000 in cash. Hackett believes Daniels is connected to the pair.
Episode 7
An informer tells Hackett to go to a squash club where he will find a briefcase in a locker. Leaving, he is approached by Dep. Chief Constable Goddard. Instead of documents, there's £10,000 in cash and Hackett facing suspension.
Episode 8
A young runaway is found at the scene of a lorry hijacking. Down the road, a second lorry is hijacked but the driver is dead and carrying a large amount of money. Hackett suspects that girls are being used as bait and goes undercover.
Episode 9
Bids are being placed for a lucrative city development building project but is there an element of police corruption connected to one of them?
