From Ontario's Lake of the Woods down to the Great Lakes, follow Matt Hayes and Babs Kijewski on the fishing road trip of a lifetime. With the help of some top local fishing guides, they'll hook a few of Canada's most iconic fish and learn about each breathtaking place along the way.
Episode 1
Matt and Babs start their road trip off at Totem Lodge, on the legendary Lake of the Woods. With the help of fishing guide Mark, they're on the hunt for the "lion of the lake," the huge, predatory muskellunge.
Episode 2
Matt and Babs get up close and personal with nature on their own remote island in Seseganaga Lake. If they survive the float plane ride there, it's on to fishing for walleye and pike.
Episode 3
Matt explores the history of Thunder Bay while Babs goes after walleye, all before joining local expert Gord Ellis on the Nipigon River to fish for brook trout.
Episode 4
Matt and Babs hop on another float plane to Esnagi Lake to fish for walleye and pike. Matt sets up a little competition to see who's successful with their hand-tied fly creations.
Episode 5
After a stop at the shore of Lake Superior in Agawa Bay to see the Ojibwe pictographs, Matt and Babs do some urban salmon fishing in Sault Ste. Marie. They take a break from fishing for the cultural and spiritual experience of a First Nations pow wow.
Episode 6
Matt and Babs move on to the French River, where Steve Niedzwiecki takes them out bass fishing and Dave Sproule takes them back in time on an authentic canoe ride into Canada's history.
Episode 7
Matt and Babs wrap up their journey with some carp fishing at Rice Lake, and Matt has one last go at catching a musky.
