For Judge Michael Jacobi, the law always comes first. As a father, however, he finds himself in a dilemma: his son Julian admits that he was involved in a hit-and-run car accident. The fact that the seriously injured motorcyclist is in mortal danger is not the only problem: the victim is the son of clan leader Radan Sailovic, whom Jacobi convicted years ago. Fearing his revenge, the judge makes a serious decision.

Judge Michael Jacobi tries to remove the traces of the accident. Inspector Kirchner, however, sends forensics to him. Arija Sailovic, the sister of the motorcyclist who is in a coma, does not believe it was an accident. She suspects an attack and urges revenge. Meanwhile, the shadowy businessman Lindner is being targeted by the notorious Sailovic clan.

He has to prevent the frightened car smuggler Zuber from being placed under witness protection and testifying against him. As her longtime mentor, Jacobi tries to influence the young criminal defense attorney Lisa Schwarz. Meanwhile, Arija Sailovic, daughter of the imprisoned clan leader Radan, wants to take over the family business.

No time for Judge Michael Jacobi to catch his breath: Although the incriminating witness has been eliminated, the problems continue. Inspector Kirchner gets the green light to investigate the star lawyer, who is showing increasing nerves. Jacobi is also in danger of losing control of his son Julian, whom he wants to protect with his machinations. The repentant teenager finds it increasingly difficult to keep his secret to himself.

Judge Michael Jacobi not only has to fear the investigations of Inspector Kirchner, but also the knowledge of blackmailing businessman Lindner. Even more dangerous, however, is the new clan boss Arija Sailovic, who discovers his secret. When his son Julian makes another confession, the desperate judge has no choice but to sacrifice the last of his principles.
