CHEUK WAI MING’s lawyer license is suspended because he has obstructed the course of justice. However, he never gives up and continues to work as a clerk in a law firm. His boss CHIN SHIU HAM treats him as a causal worker and asks him to send letters to the food market. The butcher refuses to receive the letter but a man who looks like the head of gangsters comes to help him. This man is actually a solicitor called SUN MAN KWAN and he will be fighting against HAM in an upcoming lawsuit. KWAN always admires HAM and her husband. He makes a bet with HAM before the lawsuit that if he wins the case, HAM has to employ him. During the hearing, HAM gets strong evidence to support her arguments but KWAN eventually wins the case by using special trick. On the next day, KWAN goes to work at HAM’s office but HAM rejects him. KWAN voluntarily suggests reducing his salary and the stingy HAM finally agrees to hire him.… ...

HAM assigns KWAN to assist LEI with a case and the two of them agree to work together reluctantly. LEI wins a lawsuit and WING PING is required to pay a 200 thousand dollars compensation. Moreover, PING discovers that his ex-girlfriend has sold his flat and he is now homeless. He is enraged and goes to LEI’s office to make a mess. MING has a waitress girlfriend CHOI YUK and YUK tries to cheer him up all the time after the suspension of his license. Tycoon YU SUM asks LEI to take back the gifts he sent to his ex-girlfriend KA LAM. PING tries to sue his ex-girlfriend for selling his flat. With the help of the Legal Aid Department, PING selects HAM as the prosecution lawyer. HAM wins the case successfully. LEI and WAI find that KWAN is carrying the drunk LAM to a hotel. LEI takes video of them and shows it to everybody during the lawsuit. KWAN is enraged and starts a quarrel with her in the court.… ...

LEI attends the opening ceremony of her good friend STEPHY’s boutique. During the event, she meets STEPHY’s mentor and ex-boss ZENBI. ZENBI asks her lawyer to issue an injunction to STEPHY because she claims that STEPHY has copied her design. STEPHY and ZENBI fight in the court and STEPHY loses the case for ZENBI has taken out some strong evidence to back up her arguments. KWAN runs a pub and he asks LEI to meet him there. During their meeting, KWAN’s ex-girlfriend CATHY suddenly comes to disturb them and KWAN’s older brother MAN KAM comes to mediate. KWAN suggests LEI to fight with ZENBI through civil action and LEI agrees. KAM consoles CATHY and CATHY falls in love with him. LEI loses the lawsuit again but she makes ZENBI admitting that she has peeked at STEPHY’s design before. This helps STEPHY to gain public support. ZENBI apologizes to STEPHY voluntarily and they reconcile with each other.… ...

KWAN discovers that LEI has voluntarily asked to become the prosecution lawyer and she also accuses FEI for behaving badly in the pub. KWAN is worried about the case but FEI insists that the secret of his magic could not be revealed and KWAN doesn’t know what to do. KWAN carries out investigation on the accuser MONICA and discovers that she has an intimate relationship with an old magician. KWAN plays trick to remind MONICA of her conscience. KWAN wins the case but MING complains to CHING PING for KWAN’s unconventional ways of doing things. CHING PING wants to mediate between them so he invites them for a ballgame at the football court. KWAN has conflicts with MING again during the match and MING accidentally hurts the umpire. Surprisingly, KWAN takes the guilt for MING. While fighting for custody in a divorce case, LEI is dissatisfied with the judge TAK YUE’s decision and she criticizes the result openly. HAM assigns the case to KWAN.… ...

KWAN realizes that PO’s mother is his first lover. He goes to the hospital to visit PO’s aunt and learns about the truth eventually. KWAN decides to take PO home. His grandma PAK MEI finds PO a smart girl and she likes her instantly. YUK tries not to tell her parents KAM TONG and SHUK HO that MING’s license is suspended. PO spills some water on the ground and TONG falls down accidentally while stepping on the water. TONG is injured and wants to accuse PO for causing this. They rush to MING’s law firm and TONG is shocked to realize that MING is only working as a clerk there. YUK reveals to MING that she has been saving money for his use after getting back his lawyer license and MING is deeply touched. LEI meets her ex-boyfriend CHUN TING and LEI still loves TING despite TING’s decision to marry YU because of her pregnancy. TING drives LEI to her client’s home. LEI is surprised that TING is actually the defense lawyer of the same case.… ...

LEI’s father PAK TO returns Hong Kong. While he is busying working at his office, LEI suddenly arrives and complains to him that TING has deceived her. LEI calls HAM to inform her that she is going to resign. MING will get his lawyer license back soon and he is going to resign from the clerk position as well. KWAN discovers that PO’s aunt has disappeared after leaving the hospital. MEI and KAM decide to go to Canada to look for her. KAM wants to hand over some responsibility to the pub’s staffs. A frequent customer LAI NA voluntarily asks to work in the pub. KWAN goes shopping with PO but PO suddenly disappears. Later, KWAN finds that LEI has taken PO away for shopping. KWAN quarrels with LEI and LEI takes PO away to her home. KWAN goes to LEI’s home to argue with her. He finds that FUN wants to commit suicide because she has lost a case. LEI encourages FUN to carry on. KWAN and LEI join hands together to help FUN.… ...

MEI and KAM return from Canada. KWAN discovers his name in the father column of PO’s birth certificate but he insists that he is not the real father of PO. With the help of TO, MING and LEI join hands together to work on a legacy case of the tycoon CHEUNG CHING LUNG. MING and LEI represent the oldest son CHEUNG YIP. They carry out investigation on two contradictory testaments and find important evidence from LUNG’s handwritings. The second daughter CHEUNG WING worries that she will lose the case but her boyfriend assures her that he has a counterplot. WING’s boyfriend spreads rumors on MING and the magazine portraits MING as a fancy man of YUK. YIP refuses to employ MING anymore and many other clients also cancel their bookings with MING. While dining at YUK’s home, TONG humiliates MING and asks him not to live in YUK’s home anymore.

YUK suggests to MING that they could get marry so as to eliminate her father’s worries but MING rejects her. HAM and PING go to the fund company where they meet their friend CHUEN. CHUEN is arguing with the staffs and the company accuses him for arson because he is carrying thinner. CHUEN asks PING to defend for him in the court but PING acts nervously at the court and he collapses eventually. KWAN realizes why PING doesn’t concentrate on his works and keeps fooling around in recent years. KWAN helps PING to defend for CHUEN in the court. He finds new evidence for CHUEN and finally wins the case. NA’s boyfriend YIN suddenly appears. NA is overjoyed for she came all the way to Hong Kong just because of him. YIN claims that he is in debt and asks NA to lend him some money but NA is unable to do so. MEI discovers that the cashier is out of cash in the evening.… ...

KAM consoles KWAN. KWAN reveals that PO’s case reminds him of the sad memories in the past. PO’s mother used to steal all of KAM’s savings when she left KWAN and KAM had eventually broken up with his girlfriend because of this. LEI goes to the pub to argue with KWAN and PO learns the truth from their conversation. LEI asks PO to stay in her house. MEI reveals to KWAN that she has stolen the money from the cashier. NA finds YIN and discovers that he has stolen money. MING goes to YUK’s home to have dinner and he promises to take good care of YUK. HO is deeply touched and she sends MING a precious jade pendant from their ancestors. On the next day, MING asks YUK to return the jade pendant to HO. YUK arranges a dinner for TONG and MING. However, MING is late because LEI has introduced him to TO as a legal consultant. TONG leaves angrily but he finds that MING is staying with LEI.… ...

KWAN wants to inform MING that he will be the prosecution lawyer for TONG but LEI already asked MING to be the defense lawyer for the shopping arcade. YUK questions MING angrily for he has taken the role to fight against TONG but MING reacts coldly. LEI, TO and WAI accompany PO to play for one whole day. However, LEI realizes that PO still misses KWAN so she allows KWAN to meet up with her. KWAN seizes the chance to apologize to PO and they reconcile with each other. KWAN brings PO back and he receives the Paternity DNA report as well. KWAN is hesitated and doesn’t know if he should open the report… During the hearing of HO’s case, MING wins by convincing the judge that HO falls down merely because of her carelessness. TO officially appoints MING as their legal consultant. MING wants to reconcile with YUK but YUK decides to separate with him for she is very disappointed with his actions.

KWAN and LEI ask YUK out separately to console her after her separation with MING. MING brings TONG to a big house. He assures TONG that he will buy this house in the future and live with TONG’s family there. TONG is overjoyed. The coffee shop owner KEUNG forces YUK to exchange her annual leaves with other colleagues. YUK is upset and decides to resign. NA gets her salary at the end of the month but YIN takes the money away. KAM brings NA to YIN to question him. NA finally realizes YIN’s true colours. PO invites LEI to her outing event. LEI learns from the beer lady MARY that KWAN is a kind-hearted person. LEI becomes much more gentle to KWAN recently and KWAN starts to have feelings for her. YIN accuses KAM for maliciously wounding. NA is an important witness for KAM but she is suddenly absent for the hearing. KWAN asks LEI out but LEI brings along WAI to the date. BUT CHING YEE always pesters PING.… ...

Somebody accuses YEE and YEE is overjoyed for he will have a chance to defend for himself in the court. KWAN suggests that YEE could claim that his has mental problems in the court as a way to defend for himself but YEE is enraged upon hearing this. During the hearing, YEE appears in the costume of a barrister and everybody is shocked… LEI asks WAI to date KWAN. KWAN arrives with PO and the three of them spend a boring night together. WAI returns home and finds that TO is waiting for her already. WAI and TO have been dating for a while secretly. KWAN worries about YEE. MING plays tricks on YEE so that everybody in the court thinks that YEE has mental problems. KWAN becomes the defense lawyer for YEE. During the hearing, he declares his love to LEI in front of everybody as a way to prove that loving somebody is not a crime. LEI leaves the court embarrassedly.… ...

YEE is sent to the mental hospital eventually and KWAN blames MING for causing this. On WAI’s birthday, LEI leaves her a letter and travels to Italy alone. YUK is studying in Italy and LEI meets her on the street. YUK consoles LEI and LEI finally accepts the fact that her best friend WAI is dating her father. With the information of LEI, MING comes to YUK’s home for dinner voluntarily. YUK is surprised to discover that her parents have forgiven MING already. YUK set up an online cake shop. MING pretends to be her customer and he sends her emails to encourage her. Water leakage occurs in TO’s newly established housing estate. WAI decides to hide this away from the public. KWAN receives a call from his good friend KIN WAI and learns about the water leakage problems since KIN WAI is one of the occupants. KWAN needs to buy lunchbox for LEI so he gives some brief comments to KIN WAI and leaves.… ...

KWAN discovers that PING is acting strangely these days. KWAN and HAM ask the psychiatrist for help and they believe that PING is suffering from anxiety because he has lost self-confidence. During the morning meeting, PING suggests KWAN to handle the lawsuit of the small proprietors. In order to justify PING’s judgement and enhance his self-confidence, HAM asks the whole team to assist KWAN in handling the lawsuit. LEI invites KWAN for boating. She tries to keep KWAN in the boat so that he will not be able to attend the small proprietors’ meeting on the next day. In order to attend the meeting on time, KWAN jumps into the water and he nearly drowns himself in the sea. KWAN is sent to the hospital eventually and MING comes to visit him. MING reveals the truth to him and KWAN encourages MING to be a witness in the court. TO is worried that MING will reveal the truth in the court and WAI suggests making use of YUK.… ...

MING changes his statement in the court so as to fulfill YUK’s dream of setting up a cake shop. KIN WAI loses the case eventually. KWAN receives an invitation from YUK for the opening ceremony of her cake shop. KWAN suspects that MING has changed his statement because of the benefits that TO has given him. He questions MING and finds out the truth eventually. KAM’s ex-girlfriend CATHY suddenly calls him again. MEI wants KAM to get married soon but KAM doesn’t want to. He asks NA to pretend dating with him so as to hide away from CATHY. KAM gradually falls in love with NA while pretending that they are lovers. PO’s aunt MAN SZE suddenly comes and she wants to take PO back to Canada. KWAN decides to fight for the custody of PO with SZE. Everybody believes that KWAN will win the case since he is the real father of PO but KWAN hasn’t actually opened the Paternity DNA report. LEI encourages KWAN to open the report.… ...

MEI wants to bring PO to China. PO informs LEI and LEI stops them on time. The judge decides to send PO to Po Leung Kuk. MEI reveals that PO is the secret daughter of SZE’s husband and his ex-girlfriend. KWAN gives up fighting for the custody of PO when PO is sent to Po Leung Kuk. KAM discovers that NA is holding a two-way permit to come to Hong Kong and NA rejects KAM’s love. NA asks YIN to return her the money so that she could go back to China but YIN humiliates her in front of everybody. NA returns to find that KAM is waiting for her outside her building. KAM proposes marriage to NA. NA is deeply touched and she agrees. KWAN and PO meet each other again and they are missing each other a lot. PO’s real father doesn’t really like her. He wants her only because he wants to have an inheritor. KAM and NA get married. YIN tells KAM secretly that NA is only making use of KAM to get the right of abode in Hong Kong.… ...

KWAN meets the girlfriend of SZE’s husband and he realizes that PO will not have a happy life with them. KWAN tries to stop them from taking PO abroad and LEI asks the judge to issue injunction to prevent PO from leaving Hong Kong. LEI represents KWAN in the court to fight for PO’s custody. LEI reveals her love to KWAN at the court and promises to take good care of PO after their marriage. KWAN and LEI finally win the case. They inform TO about their decision but TO strongly objects their plan. TO asks MING to make use of the grey area of the legislation to sell the bad quality housing estate. MING agrees to follow him on the surface but he takes pictures of the evidence secretly for he wants to resign from the post. YUK opens her cake shop successfully and she sends a free cake to her first customer to thank him. She is surprised to discover that this customer is actually MING and MING is planning to propose marriage to her.… ...

KWAN is shocked to learn about YUK’s injury and he decides to bring LEI to the marriage registry immediately to make a booking for giving of marriage notice. MEI discovers that KAM is treating NA coldly. KWAN questions KAM about this and YIN overhears their conversation. YIN brings staffs from the Immigration Department to KAM and NA’s home. He accuses them for not practically married. KAM is brought to the court for hearing. This day is also the marriage date of KWAN and LEI. KAM apologizes to NA in the court and reveals that he truly loves her. LEI arrives in her wedding dress and defends for KAM. KAM is eventually released. KWAN and LEI hold their wedding ceremony right inside the court. KAM tries to renovate his new home and MING visits him. During the time, MING finds that KWAN’s good friend HOI is chased by his creditors and this gives him hints about the accident of YUK.… ...

MING and KWAN start searching for evidence. They find that YEE passes by this place every day and YEE agrees to become a witness. HOI’s creditors come to KWAN’s pub and they ask KWAN to pay the debts for HOI. KWAN discovers that HOI had given MING’s watch to the creditor to pay for the debts before. MING visits TO’s house and finds the telephone with the calling history between TO and HOI. KWAN arrives and blames MING for losing his head with hatred. TO’s telephone becomes the new evidence for the lawsuit and KWAN reveals the crime of MING in the court as well. MING’s lawyer license is suspended permanently and TO is released. With the advice of LEUNG, PING decides to become a barrister again. HAM is willing to spend all her money to help PING but she discovers that PING is not recovered yet. She is heart-broken and decides to separate with him.… ...

MING’s head is injured while TO is stabbed and becomes unconscious. MING wakes up to discover that he has lost his memory. MING is accused for wounding TO. YUK asks KWAN to help MING but the police have appointed LEUNG as the prosecution lawyer. PING doesn’t want to have a divorce with HAM. In order to prove that he has totally recovered, he voluntarily asks to become the defense lawyer for MING. LEUNG asks KWAN to become the witness for the prosecution side. LEUNG suggests releasing MING first and starting the lawsuit after his recovery. KWAN and LEI visit MING but they find that WAI is staying with YUK. While discussing about the data in MING’s computer, WAI suddenly knocks over a cup of coffee and the computer is out of order. After repairing the computer, WAI secretly deletes her personal files in the computer but KWAN and LEI witness everything.… ...
