Naniwa Danshi was in for a big surprise at their July 2021 concert when Johnnys' announced their big debut. In this documentary, we follow Naniwa Danshi's journey beginning in 2018, when they first got together. We explore the group's origins and follow the seven members as they work together to overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.

Determination

Episode 2
Naniwa Danshi performs in front of a live audience for the first time in a while during their nationwide tour. Daigo Nishihata, the group's center position, gets involved in planning the concert along with their producer Tadayoshi Ohkura. Nishihata shares how he wants to give each member of the group a chance to shine. The first night of their tour ends up being a huge success.

Naniwa Danshi celebrates Ryusei Onishi's 20th birthday at their concert at Osaka-Jo Hall. Onishi recalls his struggles to fit in when he first joined the group, and shares how he began to grow closer to the other members through his work creating the designs for their concert merchandise. Meanwhile, Shunsuke Michieda also shares his inner struggles as he works on his acting career.

In this episode, we watch Shunsuke Michieda come out of his shell as he works on his acting career. Michieda talks about how he struggled with self-doubt as he prepares for an upcoming major role in a new movie. He also shares a song he wrote about Naniwa Danshi's determination to make it to their debut. Meanwhile, Kento Nagao also tackles a new challenge.

We follow Kento Nagao as he works on designing Naniwa Danshi's stage costumes and incorporating modern trends. Nagao also tries his hand at doing an improv comedy play. Meanwhile, Joichiro Fujiwara visits the studio where he did his first audition and talks about the unexpected challenges they've faced while trying to survive in the entertainment industry.

A New Journey

We follow Kyohei Takahashi as he works on honing his singing skills. Takahashi is known for his airhead personality and his ability to make everyone laugh. Meanwhile, Kazuya Ohashi, the group's leader, is also working on his singing. Kazuya visits the studio where he first got his start and talks about his dedication to his craft.

We follow the Naniwa Danshi members as they record their debut single. The members share their excitement about this once-in-a-lifetime experience. We follow the members as they learn the new dance routine, shoot their new music video, and get ready for their big debut. We also capture the moment when the members first hear about their agency's big plans for Naniwa Danshi's debut event.

A Beginner's Spirit

Episode 8
Naniwa Danshi's big day is finally here. The Naniwa Danshi members visit a record shop to check out their new CD. We follow the members on their big day as they board a chartered flight to Tokyo and perform their debut song in a hangar at Haneda Airport. Later that night, we hear from the members as they reflect on the past three years and share their thoughts about where they are today.
