Jungle Book Shōnen Mowgli is an anime adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's original collection of stories, The Jungle Book. It aired in 1989, and consists of a total of 52 episodes. The series, a compromise between the original Mowgli stories and the Walt Disney version, received international acclaim and was aired in different countries around the world.
Episode 1
Mowgli, an orphaned infant who has wandered into the jungle, is adopted by two wolves.
Episode 2
Despite having no claws or fangs to hunt with, Mowgli discovers an effective way in which he can catch his prey.
Episode 3
Mowgli is determined to fulfill the wishes of his adoptive father Alexander.
Episode 4
Mowgli wonders why his brothers have been inexplicably thrown from their mother's home, and why Akela insists on hunting the weaker prey.
Episode 5
Mowgli tries to help Kichi, a young red panda who is new to the jungle.
Episode 6
The monkeys use a vulnerable Kichi as bait in an attempt to trap Mowgli.
Episode 7
When Baloo loses his patience and slaps Mowgli, the young boy runs away and disregards Baloo's warnings about the "cold fang."
Episode 8
Baloo puts his life at risk in an attempt to rescue Mowgli, who is in serious danger.
Episode 9
Mowgli insists on helping his injured wolf-brother Akru, who is being shunned by the other wolves for breaking the law of the pack.
Episode 10
An old lone wolf claiming to have been a good friend of Alexander's joins the pack. Meanwhile, food from the emergency reserve is being stolen.
Episode 11
Mowgli and Bacchus are accused of stealing from the food reserve, but Bagheera blames the theft on an evil spirit.
Episode 12
Mowgli volunteers for a dangerous scouting mission, but little does he know that he is being followed.
Episode 13
Vermillion returns after a long absence, and offers to take leadership of the wolf pack when he learns of Alexander's death.
Episode 14
The monkeys capture Mowgli, taking him to "The Cold Lair," the ruins of a city once inhabited by humans.
Episode 15
While Mowgli is being rescued from Shere Khan and the monkeys, three men arrive to search for buried treasure among the ruins of the ancient city.

Mowgli becomes unhappy when some of the wolves blame him for the departure of their new leader, Vermillion.
Episode 17
Convinced that his presence is only causing problems in the wolf pack, Mowgli decides to leave.
Episode 18
After walking for some time in an unfamiliar area, Mowgli falls into a trap dug in the ground. Meanwhile, Chil the kite has lost track of where Mowgli has gone.
Episode 19
A human who has rescued Mowgli continues to ail him to good health, while Bagheera, Baloo and the wolves set out to find Mowgli.
Episode 20
Mowgli's mother throws him out of her den, causing him to find a new lair.
Episode 21
A drought has hit the jungle, and Hathi the elephant invokes the "water truce," forbidding any animal from hunting at the only remaining water source.
Episode 22
Hathi the elephant tells Mowgli and the other animals how fear was first experienced in the jungle by their ancestors long ago.
Episode 23
While hunting, Mowgli helps free a deer from a trap instead of taking advantage of its situation and killing it, much to the dismay of the other wolves.

Lala, who is usually quite nasty towards Mowgli, suddenly becomes docile.
Episode 25
Bunto, a wolf who had been banished by the pack, returns to the jungle and forces Akela to accept his presence.
Episode 26
Mowgli and the others learn that Grizzle has been working with Shere Khan.
Episode 27
Akela is unwell, and without his guidance the wolf pack is unsuccessful in their hunts.
Episode 28
Mowgli and the others learn that Grizzle is still in the jungle, and is planning to usurp Akela's leadership with the help of another wolf.
Episode 29
With a plan of attack, Mowgli and the others set out to find Grizzle's hiding place.
Episode 30
Mowgli and the others defeat Grizzle, but the wolf pack is still in need of a new leader.
Episode 31
Mowgli finds Vermillion and asks him to take Akela's place as leader of the wolf pack.
Episode 32
While searching for medicinal plants to treat Bagheera's wounds, Mowgli runs into the man who had saved him from the trap. This time, he has a young girl named Jumeirah with him.
Episode 33
Mowgli begins to visit Jumeirah more frequently, who teaches the boy to speak the human language. Meanwhile, Shere Khan has been keeping track of Mowgli's whereabouts.
Episode 34
In an attempt to save Jumeirah from Shere Khan, Mowgli engages in a fight with the tiger.
Episode 35
Mowgli is very attracted by the lifestyle of his own kind and wants to stay with Jumeirah.
Episode 36
Buldeo, the evil hunter of the village, and Ganshum's grandfather, tells his outraged fellow villagers an incredible story: one day, he ventured deep into the jungle and came upon some grey monkeys guarding the secret of eternal youth, who offered him some delicious wine.
Episode 37
In order to avenge his wolf father, Alexander, Mowgli is determined to kill Shere Khan with a dagger and the help of his friends, but Chil reports that the tiger has disappeared.
Episode 38
Akela's plan of attack against Shere Khan calls on Mowgli to play a decisive role: the boy will be the one who engages the tiger in the final duel. After overcoming much peril, he is to succeed in this endeavor.
Episode 39
Mowgli is ordered by Buldeo to bring Shere Khan’s corpse into the village to prove that he has not been lying, and that if he cannot do this, then he will be severely punished.
Episode 40
Chil the eagle, warns the animals of the Seeonee forest that a terrible calamity awaits them: an invasion by the dholes, a pack of red dogs pushed northwards by thirst and hunger.
Episode 41
The red dogs reach the forest of Seeonee where Mowgli is waiting for them. When the sun goes down, he puts Kaa's plan into action, luring the dogs into Death Valley where a swarm of black bees attacks them.
Episode 42
The forest is celebrating the mating season. Mowgli and Bagheera feel left out because all the wolves have found partners.
Episode 43
A mongoose called Rikki tells Mowgli that after Buldeo vented his rage on Mowgli's adopted family, that the villagers kidnapped Jumeirah and her parents, believing them to be demons.
Episode 44
Mowgli breaks into the hut where Rahhar and his family are held prisoner and sets them free, but they first ask him to provide them with food in order to build up their strength before they make their escape.
Episode 45
With the help of the other animals, Mowgli makes it possible for Jumeirah and her family to escape, and, at the same time, manages to scare the villagers so badly that they do not attempt to even follow the fugitives.
Episode 46
Everyone is celebrating the birth of Sura and Lala's two cubs, but Mowgli feels homesick for Jumeirah.
Episode 47
Mowgli is sold by Riswan to John J. Hargreaves, an intermediary who supplies animals for circuses. During the night, Mowgli manages to escape from the cage he is being held in.
Episode 48
Mowgli misses Jumeirah and thinks about her all the time, but he is distracted by the arrival of a herd of deer that is the perfect prey for hungry wolves.
Episode 49
Akela is seriously injured in a fight with a pack of hyenas, but instead of taking measures to heal himself, he refuses to eat and won’t accept any form of treatment because he feels his time has come.
Episode 50
Hathi brings Mowgli Jumeirah's foulard, and immediately the boy wants to set out to join her, but he doesn't know where she is.
Episode 51
Mowgli is reunited with Jumeirah and her family after saving Jumeirah from some rambunctious monkeys, and together they decide to sow the fields again and become stock herders.
Episode 52
Mowgli decides to leave the jungle, but before going to live in the village with Jumeirah and her family, he bids farewell to all his animal friends, except Bagheera, who will accompany him
