It's the end of an era, and everything is about to change. History is at a turning point, with a global beauty pageant contest creating a media frenzy. But that's nothing compared to the drama three seemingly ordinary families are enduring, in a town which will never be the same.
Episode 1
A brush with danger leaves Judy Bissett and husband Tony reeling. Tilly Bissett's dreams of space are scuttled by her friend Jono, while Mia Bissett considers a dramatic life change. Eileen deals with family drama of her own. Finally, Judy is forced to make a choice which may tear her clan apart.
Episode 2
The USSR beauty pageant contestant lands in Perth, where her traumatic run-in with protestors presents Mick Bisset with an opportunity. Judy's promotion sees her forced to make an impossible decision. Eileen's grandson Bilya comes to stay, and falls back into Tilly's orbit, while Jono's family grapples with a tragedy.
Episode 3
The party to celebrate Perth's 150th Anniversary has arrived. Judy and Tony deal with the fallout from the redundancy, but will Tony step up to the plate? Mick pitches an unconventional PR strategy at Svetlana, Bilya turns up the heat, and the rift between Tilly and Mia builds to a shocking climax.
Episode 4
Mia and Jono's joyride has catastrophic consequences, forcing a wedge between her parents, and threatening the Bui family's fragile rescue plans. Bob crashes on the Bissett's turf, whilst Bilya tries to get ahead. Svetlana, meanwhile, makes Mick a black-tie invitation he can't refuse.
Episode 5
Mick will let nothing stand in the way of his growing empire. When Tony accepts a job offer from his brother, he finds himself risking all of Judy's hard work in one impulsive moment. Meanwhile, Bob tries to coax Mia back towards the light, and Bilya forces Elieen to make a difficult choice.
Episode 6
Tragedy strikes, leaving the community reeling, and the Bissett family scrambling to process what they've been through. Eileen grieves in private, whilst ghosts from Tony's past haunt him. Svetlana's secret grows, while Mia, Judy, and Tony unearth secrets of their own.
Episode 7
The truth comes out in a big way when Judy, Mia and Francesca discover an explosive secret. Eileen, meanwhile, speaks her truth, changing the lives of everyone around her. Tony finally faces his demons.
Episode 8
As Judy confronts her tormentor, Tony confronts the past, giving Eileen some truths long since buried. The struggle for the fate of the power plant reaches its climax. And as the graduation ball and beauty pageant arrive, Skylab closes in.
