Episode 1

Historian Cecilie Nielsen goes on a sensational hunt into our common past. There is something she wonders about: is it really Jesus, depicted on Harald Bluetooth's Jelling stone, Denmark's birth certificate itself? It's a question that leads her into a dark and gloomy past - Odin's past.

Harald Bluetooth claims he Christianized the Danes. But when historian Cecilie Nielsen, together with some of the country's leading archaeologists, makes an incredible discovery, a completely different side of Denmark's first Christian king is revealed. From beneath one of the king's ring castles, bodies begin to appear, revealing our brutal past.

The Power of the Helmet

Episode 3

Denmark's past is characterized by brutality and gloomy religious rituals. Historian Cecilie Nielsen searches for Odin's worshipers in Norway, Sweden and England, where she finds a very special helmet. A helmet that might make Odin much more real than she thought.

The Roman God

Historian Cecilie Nielsen comes face to face with the God of War - Odin. That meeting takes her on a journey far back in time, because how does Odin actually come about? Are there other gods before him? Perhaps the answer lies in an ancient text in Rome?

The Warrior from the East

Episode 5

Historian Cecilie Nielsen goes in search of a very special type of gold that may tell the story of when Odin and Norse mythology originated in Denmark. But unexpected clues appear, and those clues connect Odin to a warrior people from the east and the Hun king Attila himself. Mythology and reality are becoming harder and harder to separate.

Ragnarok

Episode 6

Chaos reigns in the 6th century, people disappear and civilizations fall. Historian Cecilie Nielsen suddenly finds herself in the middle of some of history's most violent events, which bring the very myth of Ragnarok to Denmark. And together with some of the country's leading researchers, she makes a sensational discovery that reveals new information about not only Odin's origin, but perhaps the origin of Denmark.
