Overview: 1989. Carla still struggles with her life after the accident. This has consequences for her relationship with Alex. Max goes to Berlin with his friend and press photographer Hans, where the Wall falls. It's a euphoric experience. But once home, he doesn't want to see Hans anymore. Suus' life is turned upside down when her friend Miriam receives bad news. For a moment, Suus seems to find comfort with Father Louis. The youngest of the family, Frans, has become a soldier.
