Curry Up Harry! Was a 1978 sitcom starring Harry Worth as a beleaguered proprietor of a Brick Lane curry house getting involved in hilarious cultural clashes with his Indian staff, twins Gunga and Din, played by Albert Moses or Dino Shafeek and Michael Bates.
Episode 1
Harry gets heavily sunburnt and accidentally turns up to church choir practice wearing a towel on his head, causing chaos among the local parishioners. Special guest star Cardew Robinson as Reverend Smallcock.
Episode 2
Harry accidentally uses Gunga’s extra hot curry power for dinner with his wife’s boss. Chaos ensues. Special guest star Bob Todd as Sir Dennis.
Episode 3
A drunk Harry accidentally proposes to Gunga and Dins niece. Harry has some explaining to do to his wife! Chaos ensues. Special guest star Mollie Sugden as Mrs Singh
Episode 4
Gunga gets mistaken for the Maharaja of India and Harry has to pretend to be his wife when the Lord Mayor visits the curry house. Chaos ensues. Special guest star John Inman as ‘Randy’ Ranjit
Episode 5
Harry installs a video game in the curry house. Gunga and Din get addicted and stay up all night playing it. They fall asleep that evening on the job and a huge pot of curry explodes causing ‘curry rain’ to fall over the East End of London. Special guest star Stephen Lewis as Mr Wong
Episode 6
After the great curry explosion Harry’s wife leaves him and he is forced to sell the restaurant after he admits he has always hated foreign food. As Gunga and Din are about to be deported it is discovered that they are actually the long lost sons of the Maharaja of India! With their new found wealth they buy the restaurant from Harry and employ him as Chief Curry Taster! Special guest star Chic Murray as the Maharaja
