Overview: The investigation into the murder of little Daniel continues to yield no results, and Elena and Adam are forced to cope with dwindling police resources. Local priest Pavol tries to bring the town together after the recent tragedies, but he himself comes under police scrutiny. In her desperation, Barbora seeks out the mother of a victim of a similar murder—one that Adam had investigated in the past—and learns shocking information from her. Adam’s health problems are worsening, and it becomes uncertain whether he will even be able to see the investigation through to the end.
