The Hat Squad is a crime drama television series that ran for only one season on CBS, during the 1992–1993 season. 13 episodes were made, but only 11 of them aired.
Episode 1
Debut: Three young men, each orphaned by crime, make up a police team specializing in violent crimes. Their first case: catch a murderer who has terrorized a young boy.
Episode 2
The brother of a girl Matty's interested in tells him that there's a guy hassling her. So Matty goes to see him and the guy beats him up. At the hospital, along with Rags, Buddy, and Raffy deduce that they guy is a cop because of the way he behaved and things he said. They later learn that he is, Dallas Germany, a cop and that Rags knows he is a sadist. They also discover that he is now a killer for hire. they discover, who his next target and Buddy and a female cop take their places. But something goes wrong and Dallas shows up and holds them. It seems that in addition to being a killer, he is also a shakedown artist; he asks his marks for money for him not to kill them but he kills them anyway. Buddy bluffs him into waiting until the morning. Raffy shows up as a pizza delivery man and he tells him what's going on. Rags clears the street which alerts Dallas to what's going on. Raffi goes undercover to protect a little girl when her father is forced out of his retirement from crime by a robber planning a $2 million subway heist.
Episode 4
The guys must act quickly when a deranged explosives expert escapes from prison and targets Mile, the cope who put him behind bars for murder.
Episode 5
It's a family feud when the hats clash with a family of ex-terrorist that uses strong-arm tactics; an additional obstacle: saving the family's tormented youngest member from a life of crime.
Episode 6
Bad brothers blow away Buddy's buddy, leaving a young boy father less, so the Hats scramble to confront the hit man before they leave town.
Episode 7
Buddy travels to Las Vegas as he tracks a mob boss he thinks murdered his natural father. But the killer is closer to home, as is someone who has a contract to kill buddy.
Episode 8
The squad must sharpen its skills to track down a twisted heir to a razor fortune who stalks a young female witness to his latest killing. Meanwhile, Raffi is mistaken for the ""Kissing Bandit"".
Episode 9
Frustrated by a canine of detecting smuggled drugs, a drug lord puts a bounty on the dog's life. So the DEA sniffs out They Hat Squad to protect the dog, but the brothers can't help but sink their teeth into the larger case.
Episode 10
A mob hires a hit man to kill his son's girlfriend after she goes to the DA with potentially devastating information, and the Hats are called on to protect the woman and track down the killer.
Episode 11
A death-row inmate tips the Hats to a group of killer cops, so the squad must compile evidence against the miscreants before they wipe the brothers out.
