Chris Moore's world turns a bit upside down when he first meets Abel Vandermaark, a mentor who worked with his father. After tragedy strikes, Vandermaark takes Chris to Bengalia, where he meets the loyal Guran as well as a whole support team that trains him to be the next Phantom, complete with a protective suit

Fully decked out in his new Phantom suit, Kit ignores Vandermaark's orders and jets back to New York to find Davidson. He tells Davidson to not investigate - it could be dangerous.
