KO YAU PANG is a senior instructor in a Chinese cuisine training school. Besides teaching at school, he loves cooking for the family, too. Today is PANG’s birthday. PANG’s daughter TING tries hard to please every family member for she wants PANG to buy her a piano. PANG finally agrees to buy the piano but TING gives up learning piano very soon and she claims that she has no talents on music. TING starts to learn Thai boxing. PANG rushes to the Thai Boxing School and urges TING to continue learning piano. The Thai boxing instructor appreciates PANG very much and urges PANG to become his student. The frequent customers of HING’s pharmacy appreciate their new Chinese doctor SANG very much and HING is upset. HING starts a quarrel with HEI and HEI asks HING to take charge of the family financial matters. HING checks up the price in every supermarket. He also agrees to buy everything for all family members and everyone is pleased. However, HING has eventually bought too much and their home becomes a warehouse. Everybody finds it unbearable.

YEE always have bad luck. He runs into an old friend who works as a fortuneteller. His friend helps him to identify his lucky star and the person who brings disasters to him. YEE confirms that YAU PANG is his lucky star and YAT MOON is the person who brings disasters to him. PANG wants to celebrate his 17th wedding anniversary with YUET MOON alone. He spends a lot of money and efforts to drive the family members away. MIU HEI and YUET MOON are the mother and daughter-in-law in the KO family. Both of them love watching TV very much. This evening, they are going to miss the grand finale of their favorite TV show since they have bought tickets for a stage performance. TSING makes friends on the Internet and borrows money to her net friends generously. Everybody is worried about her and YAT MOON tries to warn TSING with all the female family members. HEI is a very clever and efficient person. She likes to call herself the Smart Detective and always try to solve problems with detective methods. The pipes inside their toilet are blocked and HEI decides to find out the cause. She checks through the CCTV and concludes that the problem causer must be PANG, YEE or HING. Recently, YEE returns home very late every day and TSING discovers lipstick marks on his shirt. Everybody suspect that YEE is dating but PANG discovers that YEE’s rumored lover is the widely discussed star in town - ICY. YEE is being reported as an “Insurance Gigolo” in a magazine and all family members are shocked. They try to question YEE but YEE refuses to reveal the truth. YEE is very sociable while YAT MOON is an introvert. Hoping to broaden YAT MOON’s social circle, YEE always bring him to his networking parties and friends gathering. YUET MOON is influenced by her boss and would like to actualize her dream of the younger days. PANG is shocked to find that he cannot control the knife as tactfully as before when he is doing the preparation work for a cooking class. LAI decides to stay and live with the KO family. She is a righteous person and believes that all family members should share the workload of HEI. HEI works too much and hurts her waist. LAI seizes the chance to allocate the housework to everybody. YEE is lazy and makes use of TSING to do his job. TSING hurts herself while doing the housework but YEE has no regrets at all…

PANG discovers that his family members spend money irrationally in order to exchange for freebies from credit card companies. PANG scolds them but they do not listen to him. HING and HEI quarrel with each all the time on their TV programme preference. PANG promises to buy them an additional TV. YUET MOON discovers that a free TV could be obtained by spending a certain amount of money with a credit card. PANG and YUET MOON try very hard to spend money with the credit card and they finally meet their targeted expenditure. They therefore rush to redeem the TV but something bad happens…

PANG tries to please the members in the Parent Club of TING’s school so that TING could have a chance to perform on stage. However, he finds that both the President and the Vice-president of the Parent Club are unreasonable and he scolds them out of anger. The Ko family is watching TV when they are disturbed by the neighbor upstairs. Because of this neighbor, they missed their favorite TV show and all members develop hatred towards this neighbor. An old restaurant “KO NGA Restaurant” is going to close down and everybody wants to go to its farewell concert. As only couples are welcome, YAT MOON is worried for he has no lover. LAI treats everybody to a buffet. People in the restaurant are wasting food seriously. HING finds it unbearable and asks all family members to leave. The Ko family tries to have a family buffet. However, they have bought many bad quality food and some members suggest throwing the food away. PANG insists that they should not waste the food. He asks his family members to finish the food but they are reluctant to do so. TING tries to mediate between them by suggesting them to join a “30-Hour Hunger Strike” activity…

TING asks all family members to donate their old clothes for charity purpose. LAI finds a pair of old trousers from YEE. The trousers were given by HING, which implicates the love of the KO family. YEE’s ex-girlfriend CHING suddenly returns to Hong Kong from abroad. CHING has become the CEO of a multinational company. CHING invites YEE to a dinner and asks him to reunite with her. YEE is depressed for MAN has got a lover already. He tries to indulge himself in work so that his family members wouldn’t notice that he is actually desperate. YEE wants to present an insurance plan to HENRY so he makes friends with NA. His family members misconceive that YEE dates NA as a substitute for MAN. YEE treats NA as a good friend who shares the same interests only but his family members doesn’t believe in him. While YEE doesn’t know how to explain himself, he meets MAN again…

TING’s head-teacher asks PANG to pay more attention to TING for her school results have gone backward. PANG is worried and forces TING to revise her study materials frequently. All family members also try to help TING in their own ways and TING finds it unbearable. YEE tries to hide away from NA so that she will give him up. His family members object the idea and suggest YEE to tell her the truth face to face. YEE doesn’t know how to resist NA and they eventually become lovers. However, the KO family worries that YEE is not compatible with NA since NA is a well educated, well-paid and well-mannered lady. YAT MOON believes that YEE is busy with his new love so he invites other friends to play badminton with him. However, YEE asks YAT MOON to take him away. PANG discovers that YEE still loves MAN even though she has got a lover. PANG and all family members blame YEE for not being devoted. YEE finally decides to separate with NA. NA tells lies by claiming that she is suffering from an incurable disease. YEE therefore tries to please her in every way. The KO family even invites NA to live with them. NA is jealous for YEE’s having a very good relationship with his family members. She plays tricks and asks YEE to buy her some late night snacks. YEE meets MAN accidentally at the MTR station. MAN tells YEE that she has broke up with her boyfriend. YEE feels desperate for he has got a lover already. The family members blame TSING for breaking the family rules. Everybody realizes that NA is the one who breaks the family rules and they treat NA badly. YEE, on the other hand, stands by NA’s side to fight against his family members. NA is pleased. YEE decides to set up his own business. He asks HING to give him some money but HING refuses. YEE leaves the house to live with NA. After living with YEE, NA discovers that he is actually lazy and irresponsible. PANG wins the grand prize in a charity lucky draw and receives a coupon for free wedding photography. PANG believes that this is useless to him and gives this coupon to HEI. Later, both PANG and YUET MOON realize the importance of wedding photos from their colleagues and friends. They want to take some wedding photos but HEI has given away the coupon already. YUET MOON discovers that HENRY’s father, JORDON, is going to visit him soon. HENRY always pretends that he has got a girlfriend in Hong Kong in front of his father so that he could continue staying in Hong Kong. He worries that his father will take him back to India if he discovers that HENRY has told lies. He therefore asks LAI to pretend to be his girlfriend. LAI wants to reject him but she finally accepts him for some reasons. On the meeting date, LAI and JORDON share different opinions about two famous old stars. JORDON and LAI break up unhappily but HENRY can continue to stay in Hong Kong. HENRY accidentally discovers that LAI is an extremely rich woman. HING catches a thief tactfully and is granted the Good Citizen Award. Even TV reporters come to interview him. HEI discovers that many items are missing at the pharmacy and YEE’s clothes are gone, too. YAT MOON finds all the missing items in a secondhand stall. Everybody decides to catch this family thief and TING becomes the main suspect. However, everybody discovers that the real family thief is actually HING…

On his way to work, a young girl approaches PANG to declare her love to him. PANG rejects her firmly but this girl doesn’t give up at all. YUET MOON knows everything but she acts as if she doesn’t really care. PANG wonders if she still cares about him and he asks YAT MOON for advice. YAT MOON suggests PANG to create some fake hints of having an extramarital relations but YUET MOON doesn’t have any reactions at all. PANG therefore decides to take further action…

PANG’s auntie comes to visit the KO family and this auntie comments that YUET MOON looks much older than before. YUET MOON believes in her and starts wearing heavy make-up but the result is terrible. She discovers that she is getting shorter but PANG is becoming more and more fashionable. She tries hard to transform herself into a beautiful woman again. Meanwhile, she discovers that PANG’s student is a lovely young girl and she quarrels with PANG about this. However, the truth is eventually revealed…

HING and HEI leave the house and go traveling in China. LAI has to take care of the pharmacy alone but she cannot manage it at all. PANG comes to help her and teaches her the 5 principles of managing a shop: well organized, well managed, well planned, well behaved and well cleaned. PANG and LAI would like to bring these principles back to their family so that their family members would not tell reams of rubbish all the time. However, their plan has made the situation worse…

A thief attacks TSING but he is shocked to find that TSING doesn’t have any money. During the KO family meeting, all members are requested to pay housekeeping money to the family in advance. HEI asks all members to sell the excess liver oil pills at home. TSING’s boss takes away the pills without paying any money. TSING tries to pay for her and she becomes penniless. YEE and YAT MOON try to help TSING to fight for the money. However, they end up quitting TSING’s job on behalf of her and HING also steps in to…

A group of policemen suddenly comes to the KO family to arrest YAT MOON. This is because YAT MOON looks like the “Rainy Night Murderer” very much and the police have made a mistake. Everybody blames YAT MOON for having an old-fashioned image. HING asks all members to design a new image for YAT MOON. On the next day, YAT MOON dresses up and goes to a high-class pub with YEE. YAT suddenly becomes the center of attention and attracts many lovely women…

HING announces to all family members that he is going to organize a concert with his old friends. He asks all family members to act as the dancers in the show and everybody accepts his plan reluctantly. Most of the concert tickets are unsold and everybody wants to ask HING to cancel the concert. PANG is the designated person to convey their wish to HING but he finds it uneasy. Meanwhile, he learns about HING’s real motive of organizing this concert from HING’s closed friend…

TSING is unemployed and she spends each day aimlessly. PANG brings TSING to his training center to learn cooking but the plan is not working. PANG asks YEE to find a position for TSING at his office but YEE doesn’t want to work with a family member in the same company. YEE tells TSING that his boss is very mad and unbearable. He also gives her fake requirements for interview so that TSING will not get the job. However, it turns out that TSING is a very lucky person…

The World Cup has begun and all family members are soccer fans. TING and YUET indulge themselves in soccer games all the time and PANG finds it intolerable. PANG wants TING to become an independent person. He decides to send TING to study abroad, which is a good training for her. He asks YUET to accompany TING to the interview but they miss the interview because of the World Cup. They return home and TING claims that she has missed the interview because of stomachache. PANG is angry for TING has told lies. He insists that TING must go to study abroad. TING refuses to go and starts a protest by having a hunger strike. PANG is worried and he cannot cook properly. The family members ask YUET to settle the problem. YUET suggests TING to sign an “Independence Contract” promising that she will take good care of herself and work hard.
