Yusuke, Jo, Megumi, Kenji, Gou and Rui are students at Academia but the latter three decide to turn bad and join forces with the evil army Volt. When the defectors return, their three friends are forced to combat them as Choujuu Sentai Liveman. With the help of an android ally named Colon and a few others along the way, the Liveman must save the world and their friends.
Episode 1
The three traitorous Students Kenji Tsukigata, Rui Senda and Gou Omura come back from Outer Space in the name of the Armed Brain Army Volt to begin their attack on the Earth.

With Academia destroyed, the Liveman gain from their dying mentor Doctor Hoshi instructions and a clue to assist in their battle against Volt.

Jou shows doubt in facing down his old friend Gou as he prepares to use a virus to evolve into the ultimate being.

Megumi suspects Mazenda in a plot involving transforming Jimmers into Dummy Man spies.
Episode 5
Yusuke is approached by Takuji's little brother to help complete a car he was working on, which becomes sabotaged by Dr. Kemp and an engine Brain Beast.

A boy befriends a young dinosaur brought to the present by Obular's time-manipulating Brain Beast.
Episode 7
Takeshi and the Liveman try to work out a final solution regarding Gon while Obular decides to experiment in making the dinosaur into a city-destroying giant.

The Liveman trio must learn to draw on other emotions to fight after Dr. Kemp creates a Brain Beast that sucks away anger for power.

Megumi attempts to protect the love of her newlywed friends from being corrupted by Mazenda's love-potion perfume.

Jou protects a robot being targeted by Gash for a special crystal Bias wishes to obtain.

Yusuke returns to Academia to retrieve love letters he left that are being used for jumping, zombie-like apparitions of his fellow students.

Megumi fights to regain a doll with emotions that is transformed by Kemp into a doll-controlling Brain Beast.

Jou falls for a mysterious girl created from the remnants of Mazenda's loving heart into a Brain Beast.

A Brain Beast created with Obular's own mind leads to a shocking revelation to the Liveman about their enemy Gou.

Gou is kicked out of Volt for his failures, forcing him to return home in order to resume experiments for becoming the ultimate Obular.

Yusuke and Kemp return to Academia Island to see how far they've come and settle old scores as promised four years prior.

Junichi tries to reconcile with a member of his school rugby team as the rest of the team becomes minions to Mazenda's Brain Beast.

An attempt to stop Kemp's Fear Beast evolution accidentally makes Kemp return to his 16-year old self whom Megumi tries to change from his dark path.

Yusuke unexpectedly runs away from a rampaging Mazenda, who has furthered her modifications into a living mechanical weapon!

Mazenda fights the Liveman to complete her goal of achieving a thousand-point brain for Bias, even as Gou tries to warn of the consequences of doing so.

As Kemp finally achieves a thousand-point brain for Bias, Yusuke sneaks into Brain Base to stop the Giga Brain Wave from controlling humanity.

As a Bias with restored youth descends to Earth to continue his cycle of destruction for the sake of knowledge, the Liveman must hold him off and find a way of either changing his ways or stopping the mad genius permanently.
