In Shanghai, high school best friends Lin Xiao, Wan Ru, Gu Li, and Nan Xiang, experience various life events that challenge their values, friendship, and overall outlook on life.

The girls attend their high school teacher's wedding. Nan Xiang gets scouted to be an actress. Wan Ru is introduced to a new trainer at practice.

Lin Xiao speaks to a friendly stranger in the main lobby of her new company. Nan Xiang's ex-boyfriend confronts her new manager on the movie set. Gu Li starts a friendship with her interviewee Xu Wei, while her relationship with Gu Yuan takes a turn.
