In this modern adaptation of the Dostoyevsky classic, a loner named Miroku takes it upon himself to kill a teenage girl leading a prostitution ring. She's an insect that hurts everyone around her. She needs to die -- and he's going to kill her. Why is that wrong?
Episode 1
Miroku stops attending school and rarely speaks or leaves his room. However, he is prompted to act when he discovers an underage prostitution ring.
Episode 2
While Miroku debates what he wants to do to Hikaru, the criminal organization she reports to wants to have a word with him about his interest in her.
Episode 3
Back when Miroku had an office job and was already an aspiring writer, he met a man named Sudo at work who was unlike anyone he had ever met before.
Episode 4
Ameya finishes confessing his long and sordid history with Echika to Miroku. Meanwhile, Goi has Miroku in his sights and is quickly closing in on him.
Episode 5
Goi keeps working on the case. He takes Miroku through the hospital to the room holding Risa's mother, who is barely alive, and watches his reaction.
Episode 6
After Goi finishes up his visit, Miroku tries to contact Echika. When she does not respond to his phone call, he tries to find her at her apartment.
